Introduce Your Dog (and yourself)

Please take a minute if you like and introduce your dog and yourself to your fellow dog bloggers.

  1. Nittany is a Labradoodle born in Lancaster County at Pin Oak Farm http://www.pinoakfarm.com/index.htm. He will be 2 on April 11, 2010.
Nittany is absolutely the best dog I have ever owned. He is spoiled to a fault but is my best friend. Nittany weighs 70lbs. and is considered a apricot labradoodle. He loves his friends at the park and loves to mix it up with other active dogs. He loves to play chase and is addicted to fetching balls.
I am Nittany’s mom, Marlynn. I have taught my entire adult life and am in the middle of my 42 year of teaching. I love what I do and am not looking to retire anytime soon. I have 2 grown married daughters and 5 grandchildren. The dog park is one of my favorite hangouts. I am an avid Penn State fan (dog’s name is a give away.)

  2. Bear is a German Shepherd/Malamute mix who came to me from West Virginia where he and his two sisters were dropped off and abandoned at a farm of a volunteer with a dog rescue group. She decided to keep the one female and called a rescue here in PA if they would be willing to take the other two and adopt them out. Needless to say the rest is history and I failed in fostering by keeping him for myself. Best thing I did as he is truly a wonderful dog.
I'm Bear's mom, Barb. I worked for 28 years with the PA Game Commission and retired 10 years ago when my husband and I had moved to Ohio. We then lived in Philadelphia for several years until we moved back to Mechanicsburg 3 years ago. My husband is currently working in Miami and Bear and I make several road trips a year down there to visit and spend some time on the beach and in the sun.
